A family home in East London, re-planned around a made-to-measure oak kitchen and bespoke storage throughout.Hackney, London · 2023
Our approach
The kitchen cabinets are built from solid oak, with a full-height larder, a breakfast island on a single thick slab, and open shelves in the reveals beside the chimney breast. Upstairs we added built-in wardrobes, a window seat with hidden drawers, and shelving that follows the line of the landing. Drawer runners, hinges and handles were all chosen to sit quietly and last.
The result
The house now runs on storage you never notice and a kitchen that feels built in rather than fitted - pieces shaped to the room rather than chosen from a catalogue.
